Job Description Summary

As a Senior Legal and Privacy Specialist, you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with legal and ethical requirements, conducting privacy assessments, and providing expert guidance on data governance and compliance for the LNDS organization.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and interpret legal and ethical requirements based on legal norms, existing guidelines, and case law for the implementation of LNDS and the challenges for secondary data use, big data, and machine learning applications.
  • Conduct privacy and data protection assessments and internal audits to evaluate LNDS’s compliance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Provide support to the Data Protection Officer (DPO) in their daily duties and implementation of the privacy program, policies, and procedures.
  • Offer expert advice on data governance, privacy by design, data mapping, and technical and security measures.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate privacy considerations into business processes, products, and services.
  • Develop practical tools, templates, guidance, training, and other instruments for ELSI (Ethical, Legal, and Social Implications) compliance.
  • Monitor the legal landscape at the national and European Union (EU) level, identify best practices or weaknesses, and engage in national working groups on data protection and ELSI.
