Job Description Summary

The University of Bristol is seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher to join the Centre for Device Thermography and Reliability (CDTR) team. This role focuses on transforming the electrical performance, thermal management, and reliability of novel power electronic and RF electronic devices, circuits, and packaging made of wide and ultra-wide bandgap materials.

Responsibilities

  • Advance wide bandgap semiconductor materials device technology and understanding
  • Design and build optical laser-based systems for temperature and electric field characterization
  • Conduct materials and device thermal and electrical characterization
  • Develop material/device thermal and electrical models for device design
  • Support short-term industrial contract work and other research activities in the group
  • Collaborate with and co-supervise PhD students in the CDTR
  • Write and co-write scientific papers, conference contributions, and project reports
  • Contribute to writing scientific research and fellowship proposals
