Job Description Summary

The University of Bristol is seeking a Senior Research Associate for an innovative project focused on children and young people’s health in Bangladesh. This role offers a unique opportunity to conduct participatory research in diverse communities, examining noncommunicable diseases (NCDs) and health promotion strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Engage with urban, rural, and tea plantation communities in Bangladesh using participatory research approaches
  • Examine the burden of noncommunicable diseases (NCDs) and identify sectors involved in tackling them
  • Investigate the role of Health Promoting Schools (HPSs) in promoting NCD-related health
  • Collaborate with community members and partner institutions for data collection
  • Identify key stakeholders who can support schools and contribute to health promotion for children and young people
  • Contribute to the development of a larger grant application based on the project’s findings
  • Analyze and report on research findings to inform approaches within Bangladesh

Remote Work Policy

This position is primarily based on-site in Bristol, UK. However, the nature of the research may require periods of fieldwork in Bangladesh. The university provides support for researchers undertaking international fieldwork, including necessary training and resources.
