As Deel’s Global Payroll Implementation Manager, you’ll leverage your deep understanding of international payroll processes to guide our most important clients through the critical onboarding process. Responsibilities of a Global Payroll Implementation Leader

  • Project Setup and Coordination 🔄
    • Work collaboratively with onboarding teams and clients to organize and facilitate kickoff meetings
    • Create, maintain, and manage comprehensive project plans for successful global payroll implementation across numerous countries
    • Establish clear project timelines, milestones, and deliverables
  • Client and Project Management Excellence 👥
    • Support and lead project review calls with both internal teams and external stakeholders
    • Coordinate and execute across multiple project streams simultaneously
    • Manage scope changes and delivery schedule adjustments with professionalism and clarity
    • Work independently while juggling several complex projects at once
  • Technical Payroll Process Implementation ⚙️
    • Define and configure agreed client payroll processes based on specific requirements
    • Establish comprehensive payroll and data requirements for each implementation
    • Ensure timely and effective management of client payroll calendars
    • Maintain detailed project documentation including plans, status reports, and process documentation
  • System Configuration and Testing 🖥️
    • Define, agree upon, and configure all interfaces, reports, and system configurations
    • Successfully deliver parallel and live payroll for initial months of operation
    • Generate and analyze reports to audit and reconcile payroll data
    • Map GL reports as required for client financial systems
  • Communication and Relationship Building 🤝
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for all payroll project matters
    • Set priorities autonomously and manage projects appropriately
    • Provide regular status reports to senior leadership
    • Appropriately escalate issues when necessary
    • Schedule and facilitate weekly client calls to discuss project status, risks, actions, issues, and dependencies

Qualifications for Global Payroll Implementation Success

The ideal candidate for this pivotal role will bring a robust combination of education, experience, and technical knowledge:

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s degree is considered a plus)
  • Professional Experience: 5+ years in global payroll implementation AND 5+ years running Payroll Operations
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of payroll processes and compliance requirements across multiple countries
  • System Proficiency: Experience with various payroll systems and software platforms
  • Client-Facing Skills: Demonstrated ability and interest in client-facing project management
  • Professional Certifications: Project management certification (e.g., PMP) is advantageous
  • Soft Skills: Excellent communication, collaboration, analytical thinking, and problem-solving abilities
  • Performance Under Pressure: Capability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines
