Study Group Digital Learning is seeking passionate Digital English Tutors to deliver engaging online English Language and English for Academic Purposes courses to diverse international students. Digital English Tutor Key Responsibilities
Are you passionate about teaching English online and helping international students achieve their academic goals? As a Digital English Tutor at Study Group Digital Learning, you’ll be instrumental in delivering high-quality language instruction in a dynamic virtual environment.
Teaching and Course Delivery Responsibilities
- Plan and develop appropriate, effective, and inclusive learning programs through well-structured schemes of work that promote equality and engage with diversity
- Design engaging teaching sessions that accommodate individualized learning using various resources to promote active participation in online lessons
- Create and regularly update teaching materials to meet curriculum requirements and address students’ specific learning needs
- Effectively utilize the Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) to enhance student engagement with asynchronous materials in ways appropriate to each course
- Apply proven learning principles to provide activities that meet curriculum requirements while addressing the diverse needs of all students
- Implement various methods to check learning progress during lessons through effective formative assessment strategies
Assessment and Feedback Responsibilities
- Engage proficiently with online assessment platforms for assessment creation, marking, and training purposes
- Provide regular, constructive, and timely feedback to enable students to improve and achieve course objectives
- Prepare students effectively for summative assessments, including exams, coursework, or assignments
- Participate actively in standardization and moderation of assessment materials and student work to ensure consistency and quality
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student attendance and academic progress
- Address promptly any lapses in student attendance, punctuality, behavior, or application to studies through individual conversations, referrals to personal tutors, or escalation to senior management when appropriate
Student Support and Additional Duties
- Offer additional support to students through workshops, booster sessions, and revision classes as required
- Take responsibility for safeguarding and promoting the wellbeing of students, making appropriate referrals to relevant staff when necessary
- Comply with all Study Group Digital Learning quality assurance processes, including teaching observations, audits, program evaluations, and performance reviews
- Engage in regular reflection and self-evaluation of personal teaching practice to support continuing professional development
- Operate flexibly to meet the needs of students across various time zones
Digital English Tutor Qualifications and Requirements
Essential Qualifications for Online English Tutors
- Certificate in teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL, CELTA, or equivalent)
- Strong IT skills and confidence in using digital teaching platforms and tools
- Proven experience teaching English to students from IELTS band 4-8
