Job Description Summary
The Information Insight Analyst role at Imperial College London focuses on enabling data-driven decision-making across the institution by leveraging Microsoft Fabric and Power BI platforms within the Data and Analytics team of the ICT department.
Responsibilities
🔍 Data Analysis and Power BI Development
- Design optimal development of Power BI analytics products to transform raw data into meaningful insights
- Enable developers across the college to make best use of the Microsoft Fabric platform to implement their data solutions
- Ensure analytics quality through rigorous testing approaches and best practices
- Design star schemas based on complex business requirements and provide guidance to other teams
- Advise on the secure implementation of analytics solutions in line with College practices and data governance protocols
💡 Innovation and Continuous Improvement
- Contribute to the team’s focus on implementing new functionality within the Microsoft Fabric ecosystem
- Develop patterns for usage that can be scaled across the institution
- Support a large team of developers to implement their analytics solutions effectively
- Participate in the team’s change-focused culture by proposing new ideas and initiatives
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their data needs and translate them into technical solutions
🤝 Collaboration and Communication
- Work within a highly collaborative product team environment
- Communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Liaise with staff across the College as part of agile development activities
- Participate in requirements gathering sessions with business stakeholders
- Document best practices and create guidance for Power BI and Microsoft Fabric implementations

The Data & Integrations team is part of Digital Products within the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) department. In this role, you’ll work alongside experts in an agile, product-led environment to deliver trusted products that support the university’s mission.
