Job Description Summary

The University of Oxford’s Temporary Staffing Service is seeking skilled individuals for various administrative and clerical positions across its departments. This opportunity offers flexibility, competitive pay, and the chance to work in one of the world’s most prestigious academic institutions.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the first point of contact for students, staff, and visitors in administrative offices
  • Manage telephone inquiries and generic email inboxes
  • Update and maintain records using University IT systems
  • Arrange training events, including room bookings, catering, and travel accommodations
  • Implement administrative procedures and set up new office systems
  • Compile agendas and draft minutes for team meetings
  • Create and maintain spreadsheets and data tables
  • Perform general clerical tasks such as mail distribution and photocopying
  • Manage diaries for senior staff members (for Personal Assistant roles)
  • Prepare and circulate papers, agendas, and briefing notes
  • Provide administrative support on financial matters using the University’s Oracle system
  • Welcome visitors and provide general advice (for Receptionist roles)
  • Handle room bookings and issue temporary parking permits
