Job Description Summary

The Cambridge Stem Cell Institute is seeking a motivated Research Assistant to join Dr. Johannes Bargehr’s team in the Sinha group. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to groundbreaking research in cardiovascular regenerative medicine using human pluripotent stem cells.

Responsibilities

  • Support tissue culture activities and maintain stem cell lines
  • Perform experimental procedures on animals as part of wider research activities
  • Conduct tissue culture of pluripotent stem cell-derived cardiovascular cells, including beating cardiomyocytes
  • Carry out QRT-PCR, flowcytometry, and immunohistochemistry techniques
  • Maintain stocks and keep accurate records of experiments and procedures
  • Assist in planning and designing experiments for individual and collaborative research projects
  • Collect and analyze data from experiments
  • Contribute to the smooth running of the laboratory, including housekeeping and safety measures
  • Liaise regularly with line managers, PI, and other lab members
