Job Description Summary

The Species Impact Coordinator will collaborate closely with Reverse the Red to advance strategic recovery actions for threatened species. This role involves engaging with various partners to leverage data and motivate conservation initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Connect with and recruit conservation organizations to submit species pledges.
  • Develop and manage data systems to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Foster annual updates of species pledges through data systems.
  • Communicate tools, strategies, and best practices to pledge partners.
  • Align datasets with key international data sets.
  • Manage the Pledge Accelerator Award process.
  • Collaborate with IUCN Canada to utilize data for accelerating species conservation.
  • Work with the Reverse the Red Strategy Director to create targeted country-specific pledge campaigns.
  • Present on the Species Pledge at relevant events, both virtually and in-person.
  • Assist in developing communication materials and disseminating project achievements.
  • Collaborate with various Zoo departments to design and execute conservation and education materials.
  • Contribute to the development of conservation strategic and master plans.
  • Participate in public-facing activities as a scientific expert and ambassador for the Zoo.
  • Work weekends, shifts, and holidays as scheduled.
  • Follow all branch instructions and meet the physical requirements of the position.
