Absorb Software is seeking an experienced SEO Specialist for a 1-year temporary position (with potential extension) to execute research and implementation tasks supporting a large-scale website initiative. This hands-on role involves conducting keyword research, optimizing metadata, updating content in CMS tools, and contributing to the company’s overall SEO strategy.
SEO Specialist Responsibilities at Absorb Software
- Conduct in-depth keyword research and SERP analysis to identify content gaps and support comprehensive content planning and optimization strategies
- Develop and implement internal linking strategies that reinforce topic clusters and enhance semantic site structure
- Create detailed SEO briefs and content outlines to guide writers in producing search-optimized content
- Monitor search evolution trends including schema markup, semantic SEO, AI-powered experiences, and Answer Engine Optimization
- Write and edit SEO-driven web copy including page titles, meta descriptions, on-page content, and calls-to-action
- Perform direct CMS updates for metadata, alt tags, internal links, and other SEO elements
- Track keyword performance and organic traffic using tools like Semrush, Google Search Console, Conductor, and GA4
- Identify and escalate technical SEO issues related to crawlability, page speed, canonicalization, and redirects
- Maintain comprehensive SEO documentation including implementation best practices, QA processes, and CMS guidelines
- Ensure consistent execution of SEO tactics across all web assets, including those produced by external partners
- Collaborate with the SEO Content Specialist and broader content marketing team to align all SEO activities

The ideal SEO Specialist candidate will bring a strong combination of technical knowledge and practical implementation skills to Absorb Software’s marketing team. Required qualifications include:
- 3+ years of experience in an SEO-focused role, preferably in a B2B or corporate marketing environment
- Deep understanding of modern SEO practices including semantic SEO, structured data, internal linking strategies, and search intent modeling
- Proven execution abilities across the full spectrum of SEO tasks from keyword research to metadata optimization
- Foundational technical SEO knowledge to identify and flag issues related to site speed, crawlability, canonical tags, and redirects
- Proficiency with SEO tools such as Semrush, Google Search Console, GA4, and content planning systems
- Experience working in CMS platforms with attention to metadata, alt tags, formatting, and internal linking
- Strong written communication skills to write or refine SEO-friendly content as needed
- Collaborative work experience across teams including content, development, design, and marketing
- Analytical mindset with ability to translate data into actionable insights and updates
Educational requirements include a preferred degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or related field. Experience in the e-learning or EdTech space is considered an asset but is not required.
