Job Description Summary
Join the University of Hertfordshire as a Senior Technical Officer (Electronics) and contribute to the success of its School of Physics, Engineering, and Computer Science by supporting teaching, research, and consultancy activities.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and manage materials and equipment for practical sessions.
- Demonstrate safe usage of electronic systems and testing kits to students and staff.
- Support short courses, consultancy work, and research activities.
- Develop new practical teaching sessions and short courses.
- Adhere to and enforce Health and Safety regulations.
Skills and Expertise Required
- Proven experience in managing technical operations.
- Knowledge of platforms like Arduino, microcontrollers, and FPGA programming.
- Expertise in system design, testing, and manufacturing processes.
- Proficiency in software installation and PC support for Windows and Linux.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
Qualifications
- A Levels or equivalent qualifications, or proven relevant experience.
- Strong understanding of Health and Safety regulations.
- Excellent communication and training skills.
