The University of Cambridge is seeking a Senior Research Associate (Senior Statistical Geneticist) to join the Genomics and Bioinformatics Core (GBC) within the Institute of Metabolic Science – Metabolic Research Laboratories. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research in genomics and metabolic science.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and interpret projects utilizing human genetics data
• Analyze whole exome/genome sequence data in clinical genetic studies and large-scale population studies
• Provide analytical and data management support to research groups within the Metabolic Research Laboratories (MRL)
• Collaborate on genomics projects, including genome sequencing and single cell approaches
• Contribute to data integration efforts across multiple types of ’omics data
• Apply statistical genetics approaches to complex datasets
• Assist in the development of new methodologies for genetic data analysis
• Contribute to research publications and grant applications
• Mentor junior researchers and provide expertise in statistical genetics
