Job Description Summary
Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU) is seeking a talented and motivated Research Fellow in Palaeontology to join their School of Biological and Environmental Sciences. This exciting role offers the opportunity to contribute to groundbreaking research in the field of palaeontology, focusing on the integration of fossil footprint and musculoskeletal models.
Responsibilities
- Develop and conduct individual and collaborative research projects, acting as principal investigator where appropriate
- Extend, transform, and apply knowledge acquired from scholarship to research and appropriate external activities
- Make presentations at conferences, exhibit work in other appropriate events, and write up research work for publication
- Contribute to the development of new models, techniques, and methods in palaeontology research
- Analyze and interpret data, prepare and submit papers for presentation at regional, national, or international conferences
- Assist with the planning, coordination, and implementation of research projects
- Manage research resources and budgets, ensuring effective use
- Identify potential sources of funding and contribute to the process of securing funds
- Work closely with the Principal Investigator and team to integrate fossil footprint and musculoskeletal models
- Publish results in relevant subject-specific and generalist peer-reviewed journals
- Liaise with the external research community via seminars and conferences
- Contribute to the planning and implementation of commercial and consultancy activities
- Coach and support more junior colleagues in developing their research techniques
- Contribute to a supportive working environment and develop productive working relationships with other team members
