Job Description Summary

Columbia University’s Department of Psychiatry is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible psychiatrist to join the Consultation-Liaison (CL) Psychiatry Service, providing psychiatric consultation services to inpatients at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Columbia University Irving Medical Center while contributing to medical education and advancing professional development.

Responsibilities

  • Provide psychiatric consultation services to inpatients on various medical and surgical services at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Columbia University Irving Medical Center
  • Deliver outpatient psychiatric services in the Medical Center’s primary care clinics
  • Support specialized programs including HIV, solid organ transplant, and stem cell transplant
  • Teach and supervise Columbia medical students and residents
  • Participate in professional development opportunities within an academic medical center
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure comprehensive patient care
  • Conduct clinical assessments and develop treatment recommendations for medically complex patients
  • Document patient evaluations and consultations according to institutional standards
