Job Description Summary
Columbia University’s Department of Psychiatry is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible psychiatrist to join the Consultation-Liaison (CL) Psychiatry Service, providing psychiatric consultation services to inpatients at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Columbia University Irving Medical Center while contributing to medical education and advancing professional development.
Responsibilities
- Provide psychiatric consultation services to inpatients on various medical and surgical services at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Columbia University Irving Medical Center
- Deliver outpatient psychiatric services in the Medical Center’s primary care clinics
- Support specialized programs including HIV, solid organ transplant, and stem cell transplant
- Teach and supervise Columbia medical students and residents
- Participate in professional development opportunities within an academic medical center
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure comprehensive patient care
- Conduct clinical assessments and develop treatment recommendations for medically complex patients
- Document patient evaluations and consultations according to institutional standards
