Job Description Summary

The University of Stirling is seeking a talented Postdoctoral Research Fellow to join an interdisciplinary project exploring agency, rationality, and epistemic defeat. Responsibilities

The “Agency, Rationality and Epistemic Defeat” project, funded by the prestigious UKRI Future Leaders Fellowship scheme, brings together experts from philosophy, developmental psychology, and animal cognition. As a Postdoctoral Research Fellow, you’ll be at the heart of this innovative research, working closely with Dr. Giacomo Melis (Philosophy), Dr. Eva Rafetseder (Developmental Psychology), and Dr. Zsófia Virányi (Animal Cognition) from the Messerli Research Institute.

Your role will be crucial in bridging the gap between philosophical theories and empirical evidence. You’ll design and conduct groundbreaking experiments to assess belief-revision capabilities in pre-verbal children, pigs, and dogs. What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking an early-career cognitive psychologist or ethologist with:
