Job Description Summary

The Department of Mathematics at the University of York is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate to contribute to a research project on quantum technologies. The successful candidate will work with Professor Roger Colbeck on investigating the practical implementation of device-independent protocols, such as quantum random number generation and quantum key distribution.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct research in quantum technologies aligned with the objectives of the Integrated Quantum Networks Hub
  • Contribute to the preparation of research papers and reports
  • Disseminate research findings at conferences and workshops
  • Interface with the experimental team at the National Physical Laboratory to ensure the practical application of developed ideas

Qualifications and Experience

  • PhD in Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, or a related discipline
  • Research experience in quantum information theory
  • Desirable: Experience in device-independence and/or methods for calculating quantum entropies
