Job Description Summary
The Division of Pediatric Cardiology at Columbia University Irving Medical Center seeks a full-time Pediatric Interventional Catheterization Cardiologist to join their renowned faculty at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. This role offers the opportunity to work within one of the nation’s largest pediatric cardiac catheterization programs, performing over 1,000 procedures annually.
Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic catheterizations, ventricular biopsies, and interventional/percutaneous procedures on patients with congenital heart disease from newborns through adults
- Collaborate closely with the Cardiac Surgical team to perform hybrid interventions
- Provide comprehensive care and consultations to complex cardiac patients, including attending rounds and completing consultation and inpatient documentation
- Participate in outpatient and inpatient pediatric cardiology subspecialty care
- Engage with referring providers and families to ensure patient and family needs are met
- Serve as a role model to trainees, colleagues, and staff while providing behavioral-based feedback
- Contribute to conference preparation and fulfill on-call duties
- Seek opportunities for scientific investigation and research within the field
- Participate in quality improvement projects and curriculum development
- Support educational programs for nursing, medical students, residents, fellows, ancillary staff, and ARNPs
