Job Description Summary

The Department of Biology at the University of York is seeking an enthusiastic Postdoctoral Research Associate to join the team of Professors Daniel Ungar and Jamie Wood. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing an innovative in vivo glycan engineering technology as part of an EU-funded project.

Responsibilities

• Perform inhibition studies on cultured mammalian cells using custom-made glycosylation inhibitors
• Collaborate with analytical scientists and computational biologists to characterize the effects of glycosylation inhibitors
• Work closely with a computational biologist postdoc to plan inhibitory regimes
• Liaise with the project team across the UK and Europe to progress the experimental research strand
• Analyze and interpret results to drive the experimental research forward
