Job Description Summary

The Department of Biology at the University of York is seeking an enthusiastic postdoctoral research associate to join the team of Professors Jamie Wood and Daniel Ungar. The successful candidate will perform computational simulations to complement experimental efforts in developing a new in vivo glycan engineering method.

Responsibilities

• Perform computational simulations using experimentally determined mammalian glycan structure data
• Fit simulated glycan profiles to experimental data using proprietary software
• Adapt and implement the modeling method to accommodate glycosylation inhibitors designed by chemists
• Use the trained model to generate predictions of glycan engineering strategies for experimental testing
• Liaise with the interdisciplinary team across the UK and Europe to progress the project
