Job Description Summary

The University of Luxembourg’s Interdisciplinary Centre for Security, Reliability, and Trust (SnT) is seeking a highly motivated Research Associate to contribute to groundbreaking research in optical-wireless communication systems. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects in areas such as free space optics, intersatellite communication, and optical feeder links.

Responsibilities

  • Integrate with the SIGCOM research group and contribute to ongoing research projects related to optical communications
  • Develop research around optical-based communications, including channel modeling, optimization of transmission and reception, and network-based design
  • Design and develop algorithms that provide a good performance-complexity trade-off for identified scenarios and use cases
  • Compare state-of-the-art and conventional solutions via numerical simulations and/or hardware/chipset validation
  • Disseminate results through scientific publications and conferences
  • Assist in organizing relevant workshops and demos
  • Prepare new research proposals to attract new projects
  • Provide assistance in the supervision of Ph.D. students
