Molecular Virology Research Opportunity: Job Description Summary

The Sheppard Lab within Imperial College London’s Department of Infectious Disease is seeking a highly motivated Research Associate to investigate critical host-pathogen interactions affecting influenza virus infection. This MRC-funded position offers the unique opportunity to characterize how host proteins influence the influenza RNA polymerase, ultimately contributing to the development of novel antiviral strategies.

  • 🔬 Lead a pioneering proximity proteomics approach to comprehensively map host proteins interacting with the influenza RNA polymerase, working collaboratively with proteomics experts at King’s College London
  • 🧪 Develop and optimize systematic workflows to identify, validate, and conduct bioinformatic analyses of host factors regulating polymerase function across diverse influenza subtypes

Laboratory On-Site Work Policy

This full-time, fixed-term (3 years) position requires on-site presence at the South Kensington Campus.
