Job Description Summary
This prestigious Research Fellow position at Imperial College London’s Hamlyn Centre focuses on developing innovative medical robotics and image-guided intervention technologies while supporting the MRes program through research project supervision and developing an independent research theme.

Responsibilities
- Supervise research projects for MRes students in Medical Robotics and Image Guided Intervention (up to 50% FTE)
- Develop an independent research theme within the Hamlyn Centre with the goal of applying for a competitive externally funded research fellowship within one year
- Support high-quality research projects for the MRes student cohort
- Contribute to ongoing research initiatives within the Hamlyn Centre, including EPSRC-funded ROBOGAST and OASIS awards
- Collaborate with engineers, scientists, and clinicians across multiple departments of Imperial College and the NHS
- Conduct cutting-edge research in medical robotics and image-guided intervention technologies
- Publish findings in high-impact journals and present at international conferences
- Assist in laboratory management and equipment maintenance as needed
Your Profile: The Ideal Medical Robotics Researcher
To excel in this role, you should possess a PhD in Medical Robotics, Visual Computing, Machine Learning, AI, Medical Imaging, Image Guided Intervention, or a closely related discipline. Alternatively, equivalent research, industrial, or commercial experience would be considered. Strong programming skills in C++/Python and machine learning are essential prerequisites.
