Job Description Summary

The University of Liverpool is seeking a Lecturer in Media and Culture to join the School of the Arts, Department of Communication and Media. This role focuses on expanding cultural studies approaches in undergraduate and postgraduate programs and developing research projects in media and culture.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct research in media and culture studies, with a focus on visual culture, cultural memory studies, materialist or anthropological approaches, or media and cultural theory
  • Teach and supervise undergraduate and postgraduate students
  • Develop and expand existing modules and introduce new approaches reflecting specific research expertise
  • Contribute to interdisciplinary research within the Department
  • Undertake administrative responsibilities within the Department
  • Engage in impact activities and knowledge exchange
  • Contribute to the Department’s Culture, Space and Memory research group and the Centre for Culture and Everyday Life
  • Develop funding activity and impact/knowledge exchange contributions
  • Participate in the Department’s robust research leave scheme
