Job Description Summary
Join the Advanced Materials and Manufacturing Innovation Centre (AMMIC) at Manchester Metropolitan University as a Research Fellow to lead groundbreaking research in materials science and surface engineering. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to sustainable manufacturing solutions and industrial innovation.
Responsibilities
- Lead research projects in advanced materials and surface engineering, focusing on materials synthesis for green energy, metamaterials, and materials for hostile environments
- Organize and manage day-to-day progress of AMMIC research projects under PI supervision
- Conduct component fabrication using various techniques (wet chemical, additive manufacturing, PVD)
- Perform advanced material characterization using state-of-the-art equipment (SEM, EDX, XRD, XPS, etc.)
- Lead the digitalization of processes through sensor implementation and real-time data analytics
- Supervise junior colleagues and collaborate with academic and industrial partners
- Present research findings to diverse audiences through oral and written communications
