Job Description Summary
Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU) is seeking a Reader in Marine and Offshore Engineering to join their School of Engineering. Responsibilities
- Develop and lead an internationally excellent research agenda in Marine and Offshore Engineering, generating significant external research income and high-quality publications
- Contribute to enhancing the research profile of the School and mentor other researchers
- Lead the development and implementation of research strategies aligned with the University’s overarching research strategy
- Conduct internationally recognized research eligible for inclusion in the Research Excellence Framework
- Disseminate research through high-impact journals and international conferences
- Secure external funding through research grants and contracts
- Supervise postdoctoral researchers and postgraduate research students
- Provide mentorship and support for academic colleagues to promote high-quality research
- Establish a vibrant research culture through workshops, seminars, and conferences
- Ensure research activities are integral to the student learning experience
- Plan and teach courses at all levels, contributing to programme development and curriculum review
- Supervise and support student learning activities, including work-based learning and research projects
- Provide academic support and guidance for students
