Job Description Summary
The University of Luxembourg is seeking a highly motivated and outstanding researcher for a postdoctoral position in machine learning optimization for the physical layer applied to satellite communications. This exciting opportunity is within the Interdisciplinary Centre of Security and Trust (SnT), specifically in the Signal Processing and Communications (SigCom) research group led by Prof. Symeon Chatzinotas.
Responsibilities
- Optimize 5G New Radio (NR) with waveform based on orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) for satellite communication applications
- Design machine learning models to reduce computational complexity and power consumption of physical layer processing blocks
- Ensure ML models maintain satisfactory performance in terms of throughput and bit-error-rate
- Identify suitable metrics to evaluate machine learning models considering system performance
- Implement and develop software and/or hardware testing environments
- Disseminate results through scientific publications and conferences
- Contribute to research projects and prepare project deliverables
- Prepare new research proposals for industrial, national, and European projects
- Provide assistance in supervising PhD students
