The Principal Consultant Land position offers an exciting opportunity to coordinate the Department of Education’s Crown land portfolio, manage strategic planning, and represent the Department in all Crown land matters while engaging with key stakeholders.

Responsibilities
- Crown Land Portfolio Management 📊
- Coordinate strategic planning and administration of the Department’s Crown land portfolio
- Ensure all land management activities align with audit requirements and expected timeframes
- Identify future land needs and implement procedures to protect identified land

- Represent the Department in all Crown land matters
- Engage with key stakeholders including Department of Planning, Lands and Heritage and Landgate
- Build and maintain productive relationships with public and private sector entities

- Oversee school crossings planning and implementation
- Handle clearances related to native title, heritage (cultural and building), and environmental issues

- Extensive knowledge of asset and contract management principles, issues, and government-related processes, including acquisition and disposal procedures for government real estate

- Strategic leadership skills to effectively manage business priorities and optimize team performance
- Proven experience in managing financial performance of projects and reporting on portfolio outcomes

The Infrastructure Division plays a vital role in the Department of Education, responsible for providing essential facilities including land, buildings, and equipment. The division handles demographic forecasting, facilities planning, strategic asset management, capital works programs, and maintenance and minor works programs.
The Infrastructure Strategy and Planning Directorate specifically focuses on longer-term strategic planning of land and building infrastructure, preparation of capital funding proposals, statistical and demographic planning, developing asset management and sustainability strategy and policy, land planning, undertaking land acquisition, and managing the Department’s land estate.
