Job Description Summary
Public Health Ontario (PHO) is seeking a detail-oriented Inventory Management Specialist to join their Toronto laboratory facility on a 6-month contract. This role is responsible for managing the full cycle of laboratory supply inventory including ordering, storing, picking, packing, shipping, and receiving materials.
Responsibilities
- ๐ฅ Receiving and Processing: Receive, unpack, count, track, and check incoming laboratory and other supplies, ensuring proper storage or delivery according to specifications while completing related paperwork such as delivery slips.
- ๐ Verification and Documentation: Match received goods against packing slips, enter information into computer systems, match against purchase orders, and alert Procurement staff of any discrepancies like back orders or quantity issues.
- ๐ Record Maintenance: Maintain various documents including records of received goods, packing slips, and delivery slips according to retention policy guidelines.
- ๐ฆ Storage and Distribution: Store warehouse products properly or complete internal deliveries of supplies to central lab locations and ship products to regional labs with appropriate documentation.
- โ ๏ธ Hazardous Materials Handling: Ensure proper storage and security of perishable goods, gas cylinders, solvents, and acids according to established safety procedures.
- ๐ Inventory Control: Prepare inventory documentation, process stock replenishment, monitor stock levels periodically and annually, and generate reports as needed.
- ๐งฐ Kit Assembly: Pull components from shelves to provide staff with materials to assemble kits for shipment to external clients while maintaining appropriate stock levels.
- ๐ค Order Fulfillment: Print picking slips, prepare packaging, pick, pack, and ship goods against requisitions from internal and external customers.
- ๐ Shipping Coordination: Handle goods, complete waybills, and arrange courier and freight shipments to customers.
