Job Description Summary
The IBM iSeries Consultant (m/f) role involves managing the AS400 systems of multiple clients, including backups, restores, installations, and maintenance of existing RPG programs. The consultant will also be responsible for learning and supporting various in-house solutions used by the ISP Group.
Responsibilities
- Management of the AS400 systems of our multiple clients
- Management of backups and restores
- Installation and configuration of new iSeries modules and OS versions
- Maintenance and little changes to existing RPG programs
- Creation of know-how documents: wiki pages, how-to manuals, etc.
- Study and learn the administration and installation of solutions in use to ISP Group: custom RPG programs, in-house RPG banking system, Interform NG2, IBM CMOD, Inetum
Skills and Expertise
- Knowledge and experience in iSeries OS installation and upgrades, PTF management, IBM MQ installation and upgrades, hardware partitioning, security certificate management, and backup of AS400 (BRMS)
- Good knowledge and experience with Primeur Spazio product, and queue management of IBM MQ
- Knowledge of RPG and ILE programming
- Knowledge of DB2 SQL programming
- Essential knowledge of other data file transfer and encrypted protocols (https, sFTP, SMB)
- Availability to work out of business hours, on demand (for incident management and go-live transitions)
- Demonstrating initiative, capability to work autonomously under given objectives, strong commitment to respect given deadlines, and willingness to engage in the new context and learn
- Self-organizing capabilities in the context of distributed workforce
- Good interpersonal & communication skills
