Key Responsibilities of the Human Geography Position

As an Assistant Professor in Human Geography, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Teaching the second-year core module “Social Geographies”
  • Leading the second-year core module “Southeast England Field Class”
  • Serving as an Academic Advisor to a small group of first-year students
  • Contributing to other small teaching and administrative duties as directed by the Head of Department
  • Participating as an active and integral member of the Department

Qualifications and Experience Required

Essential Qualifications:

  • PhD in Human Geography or closely related field (or very near completion)
  • Research and teaching interests that align with those of the Department
  • Passion for delivering high-quality teaching and student support
  • Collegiate approach with enthusiasm to participate fully in departmental activities

Preferred Experience:

  • Previous experience teaching Human Geography at degree level
  • Demonstrated excellence in undergraduate teaching
  • Experience with field-based teaching methodology
