๐ The Clinical Section Administrator manages a team of professional staff responsible for financial and administrative functions within the Department of Neurological Surgery, supporting teaching, medical research, and clinical care. This leadership role involves strategic planning, financial oversight, and operational management in a prestigious academic medical setting.
Healthcare Administration Leadership Responsibilities
Strategic Development and Healthcare Administration
- ๐ฏ Collaborate with Department leadership to develop long-term strategies for faculty recruitment, marketing, and program development

- ๐ Maintain strategic plans, monitor metrics, and provide regular progress reports to leadership

Clinical Practice Management

- ๐ฅ Coordinate with Patient Services, Patient Access staff, and other departments to resolve patient and scheduling issues promptly
- ๐ฑ Support strategic growth of clinical programs to fulfill UCMโs mission and patient care objectives
Financial Responsibilities and Healthcare Budget Oversight
- ๐ฐ Develop annual and ad hoc budgets in partnership with Department leadership
- ๐ Monitor financial performance against budget and identify trends requiring intervention
- ๐ผ Ensure professional billing financial integrity and compliance with fiscal policies
- ๐ Approve and monitor expenses while implementing cost containment measures
- ๐งฎ Provide fiduciary leadership in overseeing expense management and offsite financial operations
- ๐ Research, compile, and analyze data to create financial reports, proposals, and other documents
Academic Affairs Management
- ๐จโ๐ Oversee physician, faculty, trainee, and student activities within the department
- ๐ Lead administration of academic appointment processes, including recruitment, appointment, and promotion
- ๐ Ensure timely processing of academic appointments and medical privileges
- ๐ Maintain academic personnel records to promote goal setting, mentorship, and talent management
- ๐ค Manage faculty and resident personnel issues, facilitating information flow between all stakeholders
