Imperial College London is seeking an exceptional academic leader to head its Department of Brain Sciences. This pivotal role involves steering world-class research in neuroscience and mental health, fostering innovation in patient care, and mentoring the next generation of scientific leaders.

🎯 Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the Department of Brain Sciences, overseeing 45 academics, over 150 research staff and students, and more than 80 support staff across Neuroscience, Neurology, and Psychiatry divisions.
  • Develop and implement the department’s scientific strategy, promoting interdisciplinary research within the Faculty of Medicine and across Imperial College London.
  • Foster collaborations with national and international institutions, including AHSC partners and the Imperial College Biomedical Research Centre.
  • Enhance undergraduate and postgraduate education programs, contributing to medical training and online educational initiatives.
  • Ensure operational sustainability through effective income generation and resource management.
