Job Description Summary

An exciting opportunity for a Research Associate to join the Genetic Epidemiology Group at the University of Leicester’s Department of Population Health Sciences. This position focuses on analyzing genomic loci associated with quantitative lung function and respiratory diseases as part of a prestigious Wellcome Trust Discovery Award grant.

Responsibilities

• Lead analysis of genomic loci associated with quantitative lung function measurements
• Conduct genome-wide association studies using both array- and sequence-based data
• Perform post-GWAS in silico analyses to investigate mechanisms of lung function-associated variants
• Collaborate with research teams at the Universities of Nottingham and Cambridge
• Contribute to the translation of findings into new mechanistic understanding and therapeutic opportunities
• Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals
• Present research at scientific conferences and meetings
