Job Description Summary

Durham University’s Department of Earth Sciences is seeking an outstanding Associate Professor to lead research and teaching in Environmental Sustainability, contributing to a new MSc program and addressing critical global environmental challenges.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver high-quality teaching for the MSc Environmental Sustainability course
• Lead research in environmental geosciences, earth system science, and sustainability
• Supervise MSc and PhD students
• Develop research project proposals and secure funding
• Contribute to departmental and university administrative functions
• Mentor early career researchers
• Enhance research impact and interdisciplinary collaboration
