Job Description Summary

The University of Warwick is seeking an ambitious and innovative Assistant Professor in Entrepreneurship and Innovation to join the prestigious Warwick Business School. Responsibilities

Research and Scholarship

  • Conduct independent research in entrepreneurship and innovation, developing a robust research programme that aligns with departmental strategies.
  • Publish findings in top-tier refereed journals, maintaining an expert reputation in the field at national and international levels.
  • Engage in external academic activities that enhance the School’s research profile, such as presenting at conferences, participating in knowledge transfer, and developing industry links.
  • Apply for and manage research funds, acting as principal investigator and project leader.
  • Collaborate with colleagues on joint research activities and contribute to relevant research seminars.
  • Aim for publication records in line with qualifying for a REF 4* or equivalent rating.

Teaching and Learning Support

  • Deliver engaging teaching at all levels using various methods, including lectures, seminars, and tutorials.
  • Develop and apply innovative teaching techniques that create interest and enthusiasm among students.
  • Design and deliver course material across a range of programmes, employing appropriate teaching, learning support, and assessment methods.
  • Supervise undergraduate, postgraduate, and MBA student projects, dissertations, and where applicable, placements and field trips.
  • Provide pastoral support for students within assigned programmes or modules.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of research and scholarship in relevant fields to ensure teaching meets the standards expected within a research-led university.

Administration and Other Activities

  • Contribute to the efficient management and administration of the department by performing duties allocated by the Dean or Head of Group.
  • Act as a personal tutor for a mix of undergraduate and postgraduate students.
  • Provide leadership within programme areas, coordinating the work of others to ensure effective course delivery.
  • Contribute to the management of budgets and establishment of financial plans, collaborating with colleagues as appropriate.
