Job Description Summary
Join King’s College London as an Electrical Technician responsible for delivering planned preventative and reactive maintenance across the Strand Campus, ensuring compliance with regulations while maintaining critical systems for staff, students, and visitors.
Responsibilities
- Undertake planned preventative and reactive electrical maintenance throughout college buildings while ensuring adherence to operational, regulatory, and statutory compliance requirements
- Maintain detailed records of all maintenance activities, ensuring documentation is up-to-date and meets quality standards
- Liaise with specialist contractors and building engineers to maintain high-quality service delivery and maximum system uptime
- Optimize and analyze system performance, problem-solve, and offer creative solutions to technical challenges
- Develop complete familiarity with the operation and recovery procedures for all business-critical systems
- Conduct statutory system and asset testing with proper documentation and reporting
- Manage fault-finding processes and implement appropriate corrective measures
- Update site-specific work schedules and maintain Safe Systems of Work protocols
- Participate in a rostered 24-hour on-call system providing emergency service during non-working hours, weekends, and bank holidays
- Undertake training to qualify as Authorized/Responsible/Competent Person as required by the institution

Essential Requirements for Electrical Technician Candidates

- Level 3 award/certificate in the electrical field or equivalent time-served apprenticeship with strong, demonstrable competencies in electrical trades
