Job Description Summary
The University of Birmingham Dubai is seeking a Teaching Fellow in English for Academic Purposes to join their expanding team at their new state-of-the-art campus. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the university’s mission of delivering world-class British university education in the global hub of Dubai.
Responsibilities
- Plan and prepare teaching materials, including handouts and VLE content, aligned with established program objectives
- Deliver English for Academic Purposes (EAP) instruction across various programs, including Foundation EAP modules, Academic English in-sessional courses, and Pre-sessional English courses
- Teach an average of 18 hours per week, with potential reductions for administrative or managerial duties
- Conduct one-to-one tutorials to support student learning and progress
- Contribute to module design and development in collaboration with colleagues
- Monitor students’ academic progress and provide pastoral care and academic advice
- Participate in assessment development, teacher development, and quality assurance processes
- Engage in continuous professional development and stay updated with current EAP teaching methodologies
- Contribute to knowledge transfer activities that benefit the College and University

Remote Work Policy
This position is based on-site at our new Dubai campus. While the primary mode of instruction is face-to-face, the university is equipped with advanced technology to support flexible teaching methods when required. Staff may be expected to deliver some teaching remotely using our Learning Management System and video conferencing technology.
