Job Description Summary
Imperial College London is seeking a Principal Teaching Fellow in Primary Care Digital Health and Education to join their multi-award winning Undergraduate Primary Care Education team, working to innovate and deliver high-quality primary care education with a focus on digital health.
🔍 Digital Health Teaching Role: Responsibilities & Opportunities
Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with the Undergraduate Primary Care Education team and Imperial College School of Medicine to develop, implement, and evaluate primary care placements and educational innovations, with a special focus on digital health and medical education.
- Stay informed about the latest literature, policies, and advances in digital health to ensure these insights are integrated into primary care courses across all phases of the Imperial College School of Medicine curriculum.
- Deliver teaching and facilitate learning across various primary care courses, including Patients, Communities and Healthcare (PCH), Medicine in the Community Attachment (MICA), General Practice and Primary Health Care (GPPHC), General Practice Student Assistantship (GPSA), and Specialty Choice Placements (SCPs).
- Contribute to the creation and implementation of digital materials for both students and faculty in primary care education.
- Provide practice-based teaching to medical students where appropriate.
- Help develop and implement medical student assessments with a primary care focus, including creating questions, developing online workplace-based assessments, and participating in clinical examinations.
- Contribute to innovative educational projects relating to digital health and education within the undergraduate program.
- Engage in faculty development initiatives focused on digital health and the use of digital tools in education.
- Build relationships with key stakeholders in digital health and medical education within the School of Public Health, Imperial College School of Medicine, Imperial College London, and external organizations.
- Participate in peer support and reflective learning activities, including peer-to-peer observation.
- Provide comprehensive reports on teaching, learning, and assessment activities as required.
📋 Primary Care Digital Health Expert: Qualifications & Requirements
Qualifications and Skills
- Essential Qualifications: Certificate of Completion of Training in General Practice or equivalent qualification, full registration with the General Medical Council, and current clinical practice as a GP within an NHS setting.
- Teaching Experience: Demonstrated experience in medical education, particularly undergraduate teaching.
- Digital Health Knowledge: Substantial knowledge and demonstrable experience with advances in digital health and education technologies.
- Primary Care Understanding: Sound understanding of the organization of general practice and current developments in primary care, digital health, and medical education.
- Communication Skills: Excellent ability to communicate effectively with students, academics, clinicians, administrative staff, and external stakeholders.
- Passion for Education: Genuine interest in undergraduate medical education and a commitment to promoting general practice as a focus and setting for undergraduate learning.
