Job Description Summary
The University of Cambridge is seeking a Senior Research Associate to serve as Data Manager within the Genomics and Bioinformatics Core (GBC) at the Institute of Metabolic Science. This role offers a unique opportunity to lead data management initiatives in cutting-edge metabolic research.
Responsibilities
Project Management: Oversee multiple projects and studies, ensuring timely execution and accurate results. Assign tasks to team members, optimizing team capabilities to support scientific needs.
Data Handling and Storage: Ensure proper handling, processing, and storage of data, with a focus on human clinical and participant identifiable information. Develop and execute long-term strategies for data collection and management.
Technical Leadership: Collaborate with various scientific groups to deliver data services supporting genomics and functional genomics research. Stay abreast of rapidly evolving technologies in the field.
Training and Development: Lead training initiatives for institute investigators on ‘Data FAIRification’, ensuring data is Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable.
