PharosAI is seeking a skilled Data Governance Manager to establish and maintain robust data governance frameworks for their cutting-edge cancer AI research platform, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements while facilitating groundbreaking medical research.

🔍 Data Governance Responsibilities in Cancer AI Research

The Data Governance Manager will play a critical role in the PharosAI initiative, establishing the strategic and operational foundations of data governance and information security. This position demands a unique blend of technical knowledge, regulatory expertise, and stakeholder management skills to ensure that sensitive healthcare data is managed securely and ethically.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Establishing and implementing high-standard data governance protocols for PharosAI platforms, services, and data management systems
  • Conducting internal audits on information security and data governance standards across PharosAI projects and infrastructure
  • Building strategic relationships with teams across the PharosAI ecosystem, including NHS Trust Information Governance teams, ethics committees, and data collaboration groups
  • Creating and maintaining a central register for the portfolio of PharosAI projects and associated metadata
  • Representing PharosAI in meetings where data governance plays a significant role
  • Addressing queries from researchers, developers, and operations teams regarding data governance best practices
  • Ensuring timely completion of NHS Digital Data Security and Protection Toolkit/Cyber Assessment Framework, ISO27001 compliance, and other regulatory frameworks
  • Developing relevant policies, procedures, and training materials aligned with local systems
  • Engaging with wider data governance communities across universities, NHS Trusts, commercial entities, and regulatory bodies like MHRA and ICO
  • Supporting external compliance requirements and maintaining comprehensive assurance records
  • Assessing and managing data-related risks, implementing mitigations to prevent breaches
  • Evaluating ethical considerations related to data collection, usage, and governance mechanisms

This is a fixed-term contract position until March 31, 2027, requiring full-time commitment (35 hours per week).
