Job Description Summary

As a Data Analyst within King’s College London’s Philanthropy & Alumni Engagement department, you will transform data from multiple sources to produce high-quality reports, dashboards, and analysis that drive fundraising and alumni engagement strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Produce high-quality, digestible reports, dashboards, and bespoke pieces of analysis for fundraising and alumni colleagues using data from multiple sources
  • Lead on benchmarking projects, including data submission, interpretation, and presentation of findings
  • Communicate complex information clearly to provide insight into the performance of various fundraising and engagement programs
  • Transform source data efficiently from multiple data sources for import into Dynamics CRM system
  • Work collaboratively with the Data Team and others to improve data quality
  • Collaborate with IT colleagues and other users to shape future CRM features
  • Liaise with other teams on new fundraising projects and initiatives to ensure reporting requirements can be met
  • Manage multiple requests and prioritize workload within an Agile development approach

Remote Work Policy

P&A has adopted a hybrid working approach, with a minimum of 40% of time spent in the office. Typically, this equates to two days per week, but the department welcomes colleagues who wish to be present more frequently.

Data Analyst Requirements and Technical Skills

Essential Criteria for Data Analyst Role

To be successful in this role, candidates must demonstrate:

  • Knowledge of data insight, analysis, and reporting techniques
  • Significant experience working with a fundraising or marketing CRM in a technical, database management, or report writing capacity
  • Strong SQL skills for efficient data manipulation and querying
  • Experience building reports and dashboards using Power BI or other data visualization tools
  • Ability to create data transformations using tools such as Power Query, Power Automate, and/or VBA macros
  • Experience manipulating large or complex datasets with precision and attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate complex and technical information clearly to diverse stakeholders
  • Strong time management skills to handle conflicting deadlines and multiple priorities

Desirable Criteria

While not essential, the following skills and experiences would be advantageous:

  • Knowledge of advanced data modeling and analysis techniques
  • Experience using Microsoft Dynamics and associated applications such as Customer Insights
  • Experience building dashboards within Microsoft Dynamics
  • Knowledge of programming languages such as DAX and M
  • Enthusiasm for learning new technologies and improving processes
