Job Description Summary
The Curriculum and Instruction Manager at Circuit Stream will lead educational content development and instructional quality for tech training programs, shaping impactful learning experiences for both adult and youth learners in emerging technologies.
Responsibilities
Curriculum Development and Educational Leadership 📋
- Refine and enhance Circuit Stream’s educational pedagogy and learning methodologies to drive strong learning outcomes for both adult and youth learners
- Design and develop engaging, effective curriculum with clear learning objectives incorporating instructional design best practices
- Set instructional standards ensuring effective curriculum implementation while maintaining high engagement levels
- Manage the D2L platform and curriculum roadmap, incorporating updates based on industry trends, student outcomes, and engagement data
- Develop and track key success metrics to evaluate course effectiveness, instructional quality, and learner outcomes aligned with pedagogical goals
Instructor Management and Training 👨🏫
- Train new instructors and provide ongoing professional development to enhance teaching skills and instructional quality
- Act as the primary point of contact for instructors, providing guidance and ensuring quality control across course delivery
- Leverage insights from the CX team on student engagement and instructor performance to refine curriculum and teaching strategies
- Hire, train, and manage instructors, including those who are new to teaching, providing supportive leadership
Course Execution and Operational Leadership 🔄
- Plan schedules for courses and camps, ensuring classrooms, instructors, and tools are ready for successful execution
- Oversee course delivery to ensure courses run smoothly, addressing issues related to curriculum implementation and instructor performance
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Marketing, Admissions, Student Services, and Instruction) to align course content with organizational goals
- Manage multiple curriculum projects, schedules, and course execution simultaneously with excellent organizational skills
Education and Experience Requirements for Curriculum Development Role
Required Qualifications 📚
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in education, instructional design, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of experience in instructional design and curriculum development
- Expertise in Adult Learning Principles and secondary teaching practices for youth and teens
- Strong understanding of learning objectives and pedagogical best practices across both secondary and post-secondary learning environments
- Experience with hiring, training, and managing instructors
- Proven ability to lead instructional design projects, coordinate course scheduling, and oversee successful course delivery
- Strong leadership and communication skills to guide instructors and collaborate with cross-functional teams
Preferred Experience 🌟
- Previous teaching experience in technology, sciences, mathematics, business, or related disciplines (adult and/or youth education)
- Experience managing learning platforms (D2L/Brightspace experience is a plus)
- Comfortable with occasional travel in Canada if instructor training is planned in-person
