📋 Job Responsibilities & Key Accountabilities

As the Communications Executive at BBC Studios ANZ, you will take on diverse responsibilities that span across internal engagement, client support, and broader communications initiatives. This role provides an excellent opportunity to develop and showcase your communications expertise across multiple platforms and audiences.

Internal Communications Responsibilities (40%)

  • Strategic Implementation: Develop and deliver the internal communications strategy for BBC Studios ANZ under the guidance of the Head of Communications APAC
  • Company-wide Initiatives: Organize All Hands meetings and develop new engagement ideas that respond to evolving staff and company needs
  • Staff Engagement: Create compelling internal content that informs, engages, and motivates employees across the organization

Client Support for Content Sales and Channels & Streaming (20%)

  • Client Relationship Management: Liaise with Content Sales and Channels & Streaming client publicity teams to maximize publicity around key brand-defining content
  • Talent Interviews: Work with UK Communications teams to secure and manage talent interviews for clients
  • Content Opportunities: Identify opportunities for selective key content and ensure clients are engaged and on-message
  • Relationship Building: Develop strong connections with clients (e.g., ABC, Stan, Foxtel), stakeholders, talent, and agents to achieve communication objectives

Brands & Licensing Support (20%)

  • Press Release Management: Provide support with third-party press release sign-off for Brands & Licensing/Production
  • Content Creation: Research, write, and distribute press releases for identified projects, selling in to press as necessary
  • Global Coordination: Work closely with UK and global communications teams to coordinate announcements and stories for media outlets
  • Event Management: Organize press and stakeholder events as required

Administrative and Team Support (20%)

  • Crisis Communications: Prepare statements and Q&As for sensitive issues under the guidance of senior team members
  • Media Relations: Maintain relationships with specialist, trade, and national press in the ANZ region
  • Database Management: Oversee key press databases and maintain press coverage dissemination and storage
  • Viewer Engagement: Oversee responses to viewers’ inquiries
  • Content Creation: Write clear, concise copy with visuals for social media, media materials, and executive presentations
  • Reporting: Support the team with monthly reports reflecting achievements to the wider company
  • Team Support: Provide assistance where needed within the communications team
