Job Description Summary

A permanent, full-time Communication Officer position at the University of Luxembourg’s Department of Life Sciences and Medicine, responsible for enhancing visibility of the department’s research, teaching, and outreach activities through strategic communication initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Communication Management: Generate visibility for the department across its three key areas: research, teaching, and outreach through comprehensive communication strategies that highlight academic achievements and innovations.

  • Content Creation and Distribution: Draft, edit, and design internal newsletters, press releases, and various communication materials for both internal stakeholders and external audiences, ensuring consistent messaging that represents the department’s mission and values.

  • Digital Presence Optimization: Update and maintain the department’s web pages while managing its social media channels with engaging content. Develop and implement a strategic content plan for digital platforms that increases engagement and builds community awareness.

  • Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Work closely with communication teams at both faculty and central university levels to ensure coherent messaging and maximize impact of communication efforts across the institution’s multilayered structure.

  • Event Planning and Promotion: Support the conceptualization, organization, execution, and promotion of scientific conferences, research seminars, outreach activities, and other departmental events that showcase academic excellence.

  • Communication Analytics: Conduct regular qualitative and quantitative analyses of selected communication activities to benchmark performance, identify areas for improvement, and optimize future communication strategies based on data-driven insights.
