The School of Life Course and Population Sciences at King’s College London is offering an exceptional opportunity for a qualified GP with research experience to join their team as a Clinical Lecturer in General Practice. This position is part of the prestigious NIHR Integrated Academic Training Pathway and represents an excellent opportunity to develop your research portfolio while continuing your clinical practice.

Clinical Lecturer General Practice Responsibilities

  • Develop an independent research portfolio focusing on population health and long-term conditions (particularly stroke and cardiovascular disease, COPD, kidney disease, cancer, and multimorbidity)
  • Contribute to addressing health inequalities in primary care settings in South London, nationally, and globally
  • Utilize and analyze key datasets including the South London Stroke Register (SLSR), Lambeth DataNet, Sentinel Stroke National Audit Programme (SSNAP), and CPRD
  • Continue clinical development through practice in a local GP surgery
  • Contribute to primary care education across undergraduate and postgraduate programs
  • Collaborate with the research team on ongoing NIHR-funded research programs in stroke and cardiovascular disease prevention and COPD
  • Develop and evaluate diverse interventions to address health inequalities
  • Work with members of the local community to improve identification and treatment of long-term conditions
  • Contribute to the development of digital patient self-management tools

The School of Life Course & Population Sciences is one of five Schools within the Faculty of Life Sciences & Medicine at King’s College London. The School brings together over 400 experts in women and children’s health, nutritional sciences, population health, and the molecular genetics of human disease.
