Job Description Summary

The Cancer Research UK Clinical Trials Unit (CRCTU) at the University of Birmingham is seeking a skilled Biostatistician to join their team. Responsibilities

• Provide statistical expertise for the design of clinical trials and related studies
• Contribute to protocols and grant applications under senior mentorship
• Determine appropriate analysis methods for clinical trial data
• Write statistical analysis plans for trials
• Undertake analysis of clinical trial data and prepare reports for Data Monitoring and Steering Committees
• Contribute to presentations and publications of clinical trial results
• Collaborate on trial-related projects with researchers in other University departments
• Liaise with Programmers and Trial Coordinators on randomisation processes and data collection
• Monitor data quality of ongoing trials
• Contribute to Standard Operating Procedures for the CRCTU
• Lecture on basic statistics and clinical trial methodology
• Provide in-house staff training
• Carry out statistical methodological research relevant to cancer clinical trials
• Support the delivery of clinical research in accordance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and applicable regulations
