🧬 Job Description Summary
The Biorepository Manager will oversee the administration and execution of the IBD and Celiac Disease Biorepository. This includes developing standard operating procedures, sample processing, biospecimen inventory management and distribution, and coordination with various research units. The role is integral to advancing translational research in pediatric IBD and celiac disease.
🎯 Responsibilities
- Independently conduct portions of research projects, providing recommendations on experimental design and research direction.
- Manage complex laboratory experiments to gather data for major research projects.
- Interpret and analyze results, modifying existing procedures and protocols as necessary.
- Develop new research protocols where existing ones are inadequate.
- Participate in multidisciplinary teams across different faculties or schools.
- Perform ongoing literature reviews to remain current with new procedures and related research.
- Contribute substantively to the preparation and publication of research findings.
- Oversee supply and equipment budgets under supervision.
- Ensure laboratory compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Supervise staff or students as needed, providing technical resources and oversight.
- Oversee daily laboratory activities, including maintenance and inventory management.
