Job Description Summary 🧬🔬
The University of Cambridge is seeking a dedicated and experienced Biological Safety Adviser to join their Safety Office team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the safety and compliance of cutting-edge research at one of the world’s leading academic institutions.
Responsibilities 📋
- Provide expert advice on biological safety to researchers, staff, and students across the University
- Conduct risk assessments for research projects involving biological agents and genetically modified organisms
- Develop and implement biological safety policies and procedures in line with UK and international regulations
- Deliver training sessions on biological safety practices and emergency response protocols
- Collaborate with other safety professionals to ensure a comprehensive approach to laboratory and research safety
- Perform regular audits and inspections of laboratory facilities to maintain compliance with safety standards
- Liaise with external regulatory bodies and represent the University in biological safety matters
- Stay updated on the latest developments in biological safety and incorporate new best practices into University procedures
