Job Description Summary

Join the Advanced Materials and Manufacturing Innovation Centre (AMMIC) at Manchester Metropolitan University as a Postdoctoral Research Associate, contributing to world-leading research in advanced materials and surface engineering. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with state-of-the-art facilities and collaborate with industry partners.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct research in materials synthesis, focusing on PVD techniques and metamaterials development
  • Perform advanced materials characterization using techniques such as SEM, EDX, XRD, XPS, and Raman spectroscopy
  • Lead projects in component fabrication using additive manufacturing technologies
  • Collaborate with industrial partners to deliver innovative solutions in surface engineering
  • Contribute to the digitalization of processes through real-time data acquisition and analytics
  • Conduct comprehensive testing including wear testing, corrosion testing, and durability assessment
  • Present research findings to diverse audiences and prepare technical documentation
  • Support the development of sustainable manufacturing solutions aligned with net-zero goals
