Job Description Summary

The University of East Anglia (UEA) is seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Access and Participation to lead the implementation of UEA’s Access and Participation Plan (APP) and related policies. This role is crucial in driving UEA’s commitment to equality of opportunity and outcomes for students from underrepresented and disadvantaged groups.

Responsibilities

  • 📊 Assess available evidence and develop robust strategies to address risks to equality of opportunity and outcomes for underrepresented students
  • 🎯 Project manage UEA-wide strategic and operational approaches to meet APP targets and regulatory expectations
  • 💰 Allocate and manage UEA’s significant APP budget effectively
  • 👥 Develop appropriate governance and organizational structures for access and participation initiatives
  • 🤝 Work cross-institutionally with embedded operational staff and senior management
  • 📈 Manage UEA’s Widening Participation Evidence and Evaluation Team
  • 📝 Design and develop monitoring, evaluation, and reporting systems for internal governance, sector, and Office for Students
  • 👨‍💼 Line manage the APP administrative team
